Best Wedding Guest Outfits 2022

It’s officially wedding season and after a couple of years being on pause, they are back with a vengeance!

This can only mean one thing: wedding guest outfits are required. And lots of them! Where possible – definitely re-wear or maybe swap options with a friend.

For this list, I’ve tried to find some sustainable options that won’t break the bank, but I understand that for some people they just need an affordable high street option that caters to their size, shape and budget.

Here are my top 10 picks for your next wedding:

1.This first is one of my personal faves from a great independent brand LOVE and it’s my pick for my next wedding. The Santa Rosa Summer Wrap Dress in Pink Floral is priced at £44 but you could choose pretty much any of their dresses for the perfect dress!

2. You could also try renting. That way you can afford something more exclusive and won’t be buying something new. Hurr is a great site and I love this Lizzi dress by RIXO which you can rent from £38 but it retails at £245!

3. It’s an obvious one and usually my go to for a budget buy, but there are loads of options on ASOS like this gorgeous Coral Wrap Dress on sale at £34.

4. For something a bit more unique, I love Joanie and this Monstera Leaf Print Sundress for £45 does not disappoint! They stock inclusive sizes and show outfits on a variety of shapes, sizes and skin tones.

5. You might not realise it, but Etsy has a range of small, vintage sellers where you can find things like this yellow floral 60s mini dress for £36.50 – but beware of needing to size up on older vintage clothing!

6. Pre-loved sites are brilliant for affordable sustainable options, as long as you are a fairly standard size or shape! Ebay, Depop and Vinted are my go-to’s and even if you find something you love brand new- it’s always worth checking these sites too. This beautiful rose gold sequin dress is originally from River Island and I found it on Vinted for £15.

7. Simply Be has always been great for larger sizes and I think this pink floral satin jumpsuit at £51 would be a great choice for a summer wedding celebration and is a bit different to a dress!

8. If you have a bigger budget, then it’s worth checking out Birdsong – who operate ethically, ensure everyone in their supply chain is paid a living wage and offer inclusive sizing. This Limited Edition Herbalist Orange Dress at £245 would be my pick for a wedding.

9. And if dresses or jumpsuits aren’t your thing, then you can’t go wrong with a bright or pastel two piece suit. I like this pink shorts suit from Boohoo at £32. Just slip a lace or silk camisole under and pair with heels for a polished look.

10. Finally, when all else fails, shop your own wardrobe! Maybe you’ve got something that needs altering, could by dyed a different colour, or you haven’t worn for years that you could give a new lease of life with a statement belt, a pair of bright heels or a chunky necklace? This is the best option for your bank balance (as well as the planet!)

I’d love to see you in your outfits so do tag me on Instagram @thatwhatfisaid and I’ll re-share to spread the inspiration!
