I’m a planner, a forecaster, an over analyser and a worrier, so of course I have
triplicates some spares of all my favourite products in stock at all times. But, this week, I ran out something I use daily and realised I had already pretty much gone through my back up/travel pot too!
Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Gel Moisturiser is my all-year round favourite moisturiser. I use it every morning and it’s one of the few products I have remained 100% loyal to since trying it.
It’s lightweight and oil-free, which for someone who 2 years wouldn’t use a moisturiser because it was heavy and greasy is perfection! I have oily/combi type skin, with dry patches in the winter – I combat those with a heavier night cream. The active ingredients of Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean boost brightness and seem to pep me up in a morning (as much as anything can pep me up of a morning).
Whilst I was shopping online for a new pot of that – Origins offered me 15% off so I repurchased the Super Spot Remover which I was running low on. The Salicylic Acid in this visibly reduces blemishes and is my go to for overnight treatment of pesky pimples. But, the beauty with this is that you can use is, let is dry and then apply make-up over the top if you have a day where you really need to look your best. To counter the acid, it also contains red algae to calm the skin and reduce redness so it really is a little pot of miracles.
My next empty this month was Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm which I get through like it’s going out of fashion as apply it about 5 times a day! It has SPF15 and Vitamin E so is great through the year. I find that lip products that are really good at either preventing chapped lips (e.g. Vaseline) or moisturising (e.g. Carmex) but this delivers on both fronts. Not only that, it’s in a twist up stick and not a tin that you have dig your finger in and subsequently get gunk under your nail. Bonus.
Finally, this one is a bit of a cheat as not technically an empty – it wound up in the washing basket and went through a 40 degree spin! When my other half told me a lipstick had gone through the wash, there was a moment of horror as I prayed it wasn’t any of my Tom Fords, but thankfully it was my Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink. It was all smushed (technical term) so I simply had to get a new one. It’s packed full of vitamin A, C and E so keeps your lips really moisturised and feeling great as well as being a sheer, wearable shade.
Thanks for reading and let me know if any of these are on your must-have lists.
